THE STORY SO FAR
The Justice Conference was birthed out of a simple idea and a compelling paradox - true life is found when we give our lives away on behalf of others. What if Christians truly lived out the message of Jesus and transformed their communities through their love and the practice of authentic justice?
This idea was put into action and The Justice Conference was founded in 2010 by a group of like-minded friends in Bend, Oregon (USA) who dreamed of impacting a generation for justice. The driving value of the conference has always been what is called the theology of justice: that an understanding of God should compel love for others and engagement in pursuing justice.
More than a conference, The Justice Conference is a movement designed to Educate and Equip people to follow Jesus in living justly. The Conference highlights specific and relevant justice issues while providing onramps for leaders to do something with that knowledge. It seeks to support an audience of faith-based leaders to come to the realization that justice isn’t a mission. Justice is a theological imperative – a way of doing life.
The mission of The Justice Conference globally is to build a movement that seeks to:
Restore the church’s role as a key agent of cultural transformation
Mobilize a diverse body of believers to “Live Justly”, fulfilling our calling as his Reconcilers, Restorers and Redeemers
Catalyse future generations to be active voices for justice in all spheres of society and influence – a calling to live an authentic Christ-centred, Justice-oriented lifestyle
